akynthos is famous for its beaches. In the whole island, you can find excellent sandy beaches and picturesque small coves where swimming is an extraordinary pleasure.

Here, you can swim in beaches like Argassi, Port Zoros, Ayios Nikolaos, Gerakas, Laganas (of course), Porto Roma, Tsilivi, Alika and above all Navagio maybe the best beach in Mediterranean.

avagio means "shipwreck", and named like this due to the existence of a shipwreck on the beach. Before entering this beach, you should leave your car on the flat area and walk towards the cliff.

You can also go by the sea taking part in one of the excursions which are organized in Zakynthos or Laganas.
