|hen you enter the port of Sifnos-Kamares you are ringed by mountains-high, bare mountains, topped by a white chapel or a monastery. On one side of the bay are the houses, the hotels and the shops, and, at the far end, a beach.
|he bay is most attractive and its beach sheer temptation, but the real beauty of the island lies on a plateau which is reached by bus, 6 km from the port. There you will encounter a unique spectacle: the whole of the plateau with its olive trees is covered with sparkling white villages which virtually blend into one another: where one ends, another begins. This sight is unique in the Cyclades.
|ext, one can go on to Kastro, a medieval village, before descending to the beaches- Faros and Platys Yalos, one of the finest in the whole of the Aegean. Whether you stay on the coast or in the interior of the island, memorable holidays in Sifnos are guaranteed. Be sure you will back again next year!|
