Park of Kifissia
the northern suburbs are what the areas on the southwest slopes of Penteli Mountain are called and you reach them by following Kifissias Avenue from Ambelokipi Square. After the aristocratic Psychiko, the elegant Philothei and the beautiful Chalandri you reach Maroussi.
This is a modern suburb where the installations for the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Village are found. The Byzantine church of the Virgin Mary of the Bitter Oranges next to Metro station is a real jewel for the area.

the verdant suburb of Pefki and then Kifissia lie above Maroussi. Kifissia is a much frequented and well-liked suburb in this part of the capital and the terminus for the Metro line which comes from Piraeus. It is a living flower garden with beautiful neighborhoods such as Kefalari and Politeia.

kifissia lies on the site of the ancient deme of the Erechtheis.

The comic poet Menandros, who wrote 108 comedies, was born there (342 BC). Herod Atticus (101-177 AD) also lived in Kifissia. He had a magnificent villa where the Cathedral is today.
The Goulandris Museum of Natural History
In Kifissia is also located the Museum of Natural History (Goulandris) and has a wealth of exhibits. It is both a museum and a research center for the Greek flora, fauna, geology and paleontology. After Kifissia comes Nea Eritrea and then Ekali. This suburb has a great number of villas and verdant gardens.
