Mikrolimano - aerial photograph
f one had to set aside one specific part of Piraeus as being special, then without a doubt, he would have to pick Kastella hill or Mikrolimano. It is the most picturesque harbor in Piraeus with an intense character. Traditional fish taverns among with luxury restaurants are located right down the small harbor offering a chance for a romantic dinner by the sea. The small bars that overlooking the harbor are crowded, specially during the summer months, setting the night-rythm of the place.
The Votsalakia (Pebbles), the lovely beach at Kastella .
In Mikrolimano the villa of Alexandras Koumoundouros has been refurbished and today houses the Naval Society of Greece.

Kastella is also noted for Profitis Ilias which has an enchanting view of the entire Saronic gulf.
There is also the Veaki outdoor Theater which plays host to many theatrical performances and concerts during the summer months.
